KIRKCALDY KESTRELS have announced the re-signing of Aaron Greger and he’s hoping to make amends for a personally disappointing season.
‘Yogi’ is back for a third consecutive season and has played for Kestrels before as well as sells at Fife Flyers, Solway Sharks and Edinburgh Capitals.
But following a season where the club won the SNL and the play-offs, Greger is keen to play his part in the new campaign.
He said: “I didn’t play a lot last season due to other commitments, which was personally disappointing as you want to play in every game you can.
“It’s my third year back in Kestrels colours, but it’s the biggest year for us in my eyes. We won the league and play-offs last year, so we’re looking to build and improve on that.
“With the core of the team returning and a few new additions, I think it’s a big year for us as a club, but I am 100% focussed on the up and coming campaign.”
As well as playing his club level hockey at four separate clubs, Aaron has also played hockey for Scotland and for Great Britain at Under 18’s level.
He re-joined the Kestrels during the 2013/14 season where he played 10 games, registering five points then played 13 games last season, with only one assist to his name.
Greger is a heads up player who likes to carry the puck to start the play and he is also the type of D-man who likes to play the body and will finish his hits where he can.
Now that his future is secured in Kirkcaldy for another season, he’s keen to hit the ice and the club are delighted to have him back again.
