KIRKCALDY KESTRELS netminder Craig Douglas has been given the opportunity to step up to the Elite League by signing with Fife Flyers.

Douglas will be back-up goalie to David Brown this season after agreeing to fill in for Blair Daly, who has taken a work opportunity.

The 25 year old has been involved with Flyers before, having signed two-ways deals previously and will wear the club’s #35 jersey this season.

Flyers’ head coach Todd Dutiaume told the Flyers’ official website: “Craig has trained with the Flyers for a number of seasons and has been in the line-up in the past.

“Craig has always been available to us when required and jumped at the opportunity to take on the role.

“We are looking forward to having him back on the roster and will leave the door open for both him and Blair in the future.”
