SOLWAY SHARKS’ SNL side will be anchored at the back this season with the use of two great young netminding prospects.

Teenagers Kyle Johnston (17) and Calum Hepburn (18) will battle it out between the pipes for the Dumfries side in the SNL this season as coach Jamie Kerr prepares his side.

Johnston will be looking to build on some great performances and progress his skills and ability at the consistent and impressive rate he has over the last year.

He had a tremendous first senior year last season where he was among the top performing netminders in the SNL and will be hoping for more of the same.

Hepburn returns after spending a few years playing at Worcester Academy in Boston, Massachusetts and will be seeking to display to opponents the talent he has.

The pair will push each other over the course of the season as they strive to improve their game and develop experience whilst aiding their u20s team.

They will also get their chance with the Sharks SNL side and also put themselves in the shop window if needed for Martin Grubb’s side.
