KIRKCALDY KESTRELS have added to their ranks once more with the news that Josh Leslie is returning for the new season.
Josh is a product of Kirkcaldy Ice Hockey Club’s junior development programme and after making his debut at the age of 16, he’s been a regular ever since.
Now 20, he moves the puck well, has a fantastic poke check and is one of the best “on the tape” passers of the puck to come through the junior ranks for a long time.
Last season the young defenseman missed roughly nine games due to injury but returned to finish of the latter part of the campaign, playing 18 games all in.
This season will be a big one for him as he joins Matthew Farmer, Rudi Cairns, Jay Duncan and Aaron Greger as one of the core players on the Kestrels blue line.
The Kestrels coaches will be looking to see Josh flourish and play a regular part in this season’s competition’s and the young D-man is up for the challenge.
On returning to the club Leslie said: “Last season was huge for us and we played consistently well the whole year.
“If we are to continue the way we did last season and repeat our successes, we will need to play better than we did last season as teams will be coming at us much harder.
“Teams are strengthening all over the league, so it’s going to be an interesting year as we look to defend our title.”
