NORTH AYRSHIRE WILD have received a timely boost with the news that Daniel Abercrombie will return to the club for the new season.

The forward had a great breakthrough campaign last season, weighing in with 13 goals for the Wild and was set for a move to NIHL outfit Blackburn Hawks.

However the deal fell through due to issues with his accommodation, which meant a return to the SNL as well the club’s Under 20’s side.

Daniel is a local lad from Irvine and has played for North Ayr since the age of six, going on to play for Scotland since he was 12 years old, featuring for the U17s and U19s this year.

A spokesman for the club said: “While it was sad to see Daniel’s move to Blackburn fall through, we are delighted to see he’s coming back to North Ayrshire Wild.

“He had a great season with us last year and the fans will be pleased to see him back in orange and black again.”
