DUNDEE COMETS 10 SOLWAY SHARKS 2

DUNDEE COMETS warmed up for their Scottish Cup tie with Dundee Tigers with a comfortable 10-2 win over a depleted Solway Sharks, who had to borrow players from their other team age groups.

Lewis Macintosh and Jamie Whitelaw had the home side two up before Calum Henderson pulled one back before Callum Hill reopened the two-goal gulf by the end of the first period.

Four goals late in the second period more or less settled the match for the Comets as Billy Baxter, Robbie Hill, Ross Johnston and Lewis Gold all found the net.

Then Callum Hill added his second of the game for Dundee to race into a 8-1 lead. Scott Henderson followed up by scoring Solway’s second shortly after.

But the Comets rounded things off through goals from Andrew Pankhurst and Robbie Hill in the third period to complete the job.

ABERDEEN LYNX 6 MORAY TYPHOONS 1

ABERDEEN LYNX took the points at home as they comfortably defeated Moray Typhoons 6-1 to stay ahead of Dundee Comets in third place.

Christian Johnson scored the first of two to give Lynx the lead before Sean Dyer added a second in the first period.

Two quickfire goals from Jordan Leyden and Ross MacIntosh settled things for the home team before Johnson’s second made it five without reply.

Gavin Millar scored early in the third as understrength Moray struggled in the North East, but it was Aberdeen that took the plaudits.
