KIRKCALDY KESTRELS 3 PAISLEY PIRATES 1
A GOAL in each period made it a good night for Kirkcaldy Kestrels, who moved level on points with Edinburgh Capitals after taking the points in a 3-1 win over Paisley Pirates.
A closely fought first period was soon decided by Andy Finlay, who opened the scoring in the final minute of the opening session.
Pirates, yet to win on the road in the league, hit back in the second period as David Orr found his way through to goal on the power play and Ian Turley’s side were level.
However their joy was short-lived as Allan Anderson’s shot left Graham Meechan beaten to restore the home side’s slender lead.
Then, with ten minutes to go, Chad Smith struck and the points were secure for the Kestrels, who are the first team to hit the halfway point in terms of their fixtures.
