PAISLEY PIRATES 6 ABERDEEN LYNX 4

PAISLEY PIRATES preserved their unbeaten home record, while delivering a blow to Aberdeen’s hopes of moving into second place after beating Lynx 6-4 at Braehead.

The home side took an early lead through Calum Blair, who then added a second shortly after as the Pirates began to impose themselves on the game.

Richard Thorp added a third to gave Paisley a 3-0 lead after the first, but Lynx hit back through Mark Laing, only for Thorp to restore the three-goal advantage with his second not long after.

Iain Malcolm shortened the gap during the middle period, but Thorp completed his hat-trick in the third period to keep Ian Turley’s team in pole position.

Although Laing found the net for the second time, Chris Wilson clinched the points with the Pirates’ fifth, while Jordan Leyden weighed in with Aberdeen’s fourth – a mere consolation.

DUNDEE TIGERS 8 KILMARNOCK STORM 1

KILMARNOCK STORM are the only team to win a game in the SNL this season after Dundee Tigers’ swept them aside in an 8-1 victory.

With the mood still high following their progress to the Autumn Cup Final, it took Tigers’ 17 seconds to register their first of the game as Ross Bree opened the scoring.

Soon Paul Guilcher and Grant Reekie got in on the act as the Tayside men set the tone for the rest of the game.

Robbie Barnett added a fourth in the second period before Guilcher’s second, one from Mark McLeod and a double by Kris Phillips turned the game into a rout.

Alisdair Brown’s goal three minutes from time gave Storm something to cheer about, but the damage had been well and truly done as they remain without as much as a point so far this season.
