AUTUMN CUP SEMI FINAL 1st LEG:

PAISLEY PIRATES 2 EDINBURGH CAPITALS 1

PAISLEY PIRATES edged themselves into pole position as they took the first leg of this last four clash with Edinburgh Capitals 2-1.

Both teams were deadlocked after 40 minutes with no sign at that stage how the tie would go, but there was a breakthrough in the third period.

A Robert Henderson slapshot screamed past Caps goalie Craig Mallinson to give the home side the lead as Pirates took an advantage.

Stuart Miller made it 2-0 shortly after on the powerplay with Graham McCamley and Mark Hassan weighing with assists and Paisley had a significant lead.

The Autumn Cup holders came back though as Sean Donaldson fired a shot home with six minutes to go to bring the deficit to one.

Both teams will have to go again at the end of the month for a place in the Autumn Cup Final, with Dundee Tigers awaiting the winners in the final.
