Autumn Cup Quarter Final 2nd Leg –
Dundee Tigers 4 Aberdeen Lynx 4 (Tigers win 11-9 on aggregate)
DUNDEE TIGERS set up a last four clash with Dundee Comets, despite drawing their quarter final second leg with Aberdeen Lynx.
Having led 7-5 in the first leg in Aberdeen last week, the Tigers increased their lead in the first period through Steven Turnbull before Grant Reekie added a second shorthanded.
Ross McIntosh pulled one back minutes later on the powerplay to remind the Tayside men they weren’t out of the tie yet.
Then Christian Johnson levelled the game at 2-2 with a powerplay goal, bringing the tie back to a two-goal difference.
However Scott Marr and another from Reekie, shorthanded, effectively killed things off, despite Mark Laing finding the net for Aberdeen.
Even Sean Dyer’s goal five minutes to go couldn’t trigger a late comeback as Tigers held on to confirm their place in the semis against their deadly rivals.
