IT’S two down, two to go as far as the weekend’s action is concerned and depending on how things went on Saturday, we could see one or two changes in the standings.

The big game of the day is at Braehead Arena when Paisley Pirates take on Aberdeen Lynx and both sides have had a decent run of form in the early part of the season.

Plus Dundee Tigers will be keen to kick on when they host Kilmarnock Storm as we look ahead to what do lie ahead for all four teams on Sunday.

PAISLEY PIRATES vs ABERDEEN LYNX
Sunday, 6pm, Braehead Arena

PIRATES may be in a good position in their Autumn Cup semi final, but all that will be forgotten about when Barry Carnegie’s Lynx make the journey down from the North East.

Aberdeen have the bragging rights going into this one after defeating Ian Turley’s men 5-4 in the reverse fixture two weeks ago to inflict their first defeat on them.

It should be another close encounter as Pirates look to climb the table, but judging the other fixtures this weekend, may not climb too far.

However a win would put a stick in the spokes of Aberdeen’s title challenge, with Edinburgh having the week off, but it could also help give Pirates a boost.

A fascinating encounter awaits and it’s one certain people based in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy will be keeping an eye on.

DUNDEE TIGERS vs KILMARNOCK STORM
Sunday, 6.30pm, Dundee Ice Arena

DUNDEE TIGERS have their place booked in the Autumn Cup Final, so their full attention will turn to climbing the league table.

It’s the meeting of the two teams yet to win a game in the league this season and if any teams are desperate for the two points, it’s these two.

Tigers have only one point to show for their efforts so far in their four games, sitting second bottom, behind the so far pointless Storm.

Reaching a cup final will give them a huge boost as they get ready to face the league campaign head on and will be favourites for this clash.

Kilmarnock though badly need the points if they don’t want to be left behind and a long trip to Dundee maybe isn’t the best journey to look forward to.

Hopefully one of these teams will snap their winless league run in what promises to be an interesting contest.
